A few housecleaning items to highlight out of the Vikings overtime win over the Bears from the Metrodome today.
Starting quarterback Christian Ponder was officially labeled with a concussion after being knocked out of the contest late in the first half.
Head coach Leslie Frazier said “we’ll have to see what happens with him during the week” when discussing Ponder with the media after the win.
Frazier also said, as is his customary answer after every game, that the coaching staff would sit down and look at the tape of Matt Cassel to see where he stands if Ponder is healthy enough to play next Sunday at Baltimore. Until the week unfolds with Ponder’s health and the tape breakdown of Cassel, he said he will not rule out either in the starting QB conversation.
Adrian Peterson spoke after the game Sunday as well, a day that saw him go over 200 yards for the fifth time in his career and break the 10,000 rushing yard barrier.
Peterson said he is “humbled” by joining Eric Dickerson and Jim Brown as the three running backs to take the least amount of time to reach 10,000, adding that his mindset has always been to become the best ever and that Brown and Dickerson helped motivate him to be better than them when he was younger.

Frazier also said after the game that linebacker Chad Greenway, who confirmed what Frazier said, has been playing with broken bones in his wrist since the middle of the season. After today’s game, Greenway is the Vikings leading tackler, with 95 on the season.
Another linebacker that stood out today was the man in the middle, Audie Cole.
Cole started for Erin Henderson, who played sparingly after a legal issue came to light this week, and Cole had nine tackles and a near-interception in his place.
Frazier said that Henderson didn’t play much because of the solid play of Cole, rather than for disciplinary reasons.
One more quick note. When asked about Chris Cook’s ejection, Frazier simply said “you got to keep your composure,” but did not indicate that any disciplinary action would be passed down.
