The Minnesota Vikings announced on Friday the full 17-man coaching staff that will work under new head coach Mike Zimmer, and offensive coordinator Norv Turner and defensive coordinator George Edwards were introduced at an afternoon press conference.

“We want to make big plays, we want to be an explosive offense, and we want to run the ball,” Turner said, via the Star Tribune. He also said he talked with running back Adrian Peterson, who Turner says is “at the point in his career where he wants to make the playoffs and have some success in the playoffs and whatever it takes for us is what he wants to do.”
In an interview with KFAN, Turner hinted that Peterson could have a larger role in the passing game.

Finding a starting quarterback may be job No. 1, and Turner hopes to add a young quarterback to the team.

Turner added that he has spoken with quarterback Matt Cassel, who voided the final year of his contract with the Vikings to test the free agent market, and Cassel didn’t rule out a possible return next season.
