The Vikings closed preseason play with a 28-24 loss to the Houston Texans Thursday night. The game featured four long scoring plays, including a 59-yard touchdown reception for Vikings’ rookie wide receiver Jarius Wright.

Houston: 80-yard touchdown pass from Jon Beck to Devier Posey
Minnesota: 58-yard touchdown pass from Sage Rosenfels to Devin Aromashodu
Houston: 76-yard punt return touchdown by Trindon Holliday
Minnesota: 59-yard touchdown pass from McLeod Bethel-Thompson to Jarius Wright
Minnesota: 76-yard touchdown run by Jordan Todman
Wright led the Vikings in receiving, catching six passes for 122 yards. Aromashodu finished with five catches for 89 yards.
The battle for third string quarterback, seemingly between Rosenfels and Bethel-Thompson is still undefined as there wasn’t a clear-cut winner. Rosenfels finished 7-11 with 111 yards and one touchdown. Bethel-Thompson wasn’t as accurate, completing 15-29 passes for 193 yards and a touchdown and interception.
Another highly publicized position battle was for third string running back. Todman, with the long touchdown run, led the Vikings with 114 yards on ten carries. Matt Asiata rushed for 43 yards on seven carries and Lex Hilliard finished with 33 yards on seven carries.
