Minnesota Vikings defensive back Jayron Kearse was arrested on Sunday morning on suspicion of DUI and possessing a firearm without a permit. The report came from ESPN’s Courtney Cronin, who noted the arrest was listed in the Hennepin County jail records.
According to Hennepin County jail records, Vikings safety Jayron Kearse was arrested this morning on suspicion of DUI and in possession of a firearm without a permit. He's being held in jail without bail on the weapons charge.

The Minnesota Vikings issued the following statement to Bring Me The News on Sunday morning regarding Kearse’s arrest:
“We are aware of Jayron’s arrest and are gathering additional information at this time.”
According to the Minneapolis Star Tribune’s Paul Walsh, the police report stated that Kearse drove around a construction barrier on I-94 at Cedar Avenue and was pulled over by a Minnesota state trooper.
Kearse was found to have a blood alcohol content of 0.10% and a loaded gun was found in the vehicle according to the statement from the Minnesota State Patrol. Kearse was booked into the Hennepin County jail shortly before 5:30 a.m. and remains jailed without bail.
Kearse was a seventh-round draft pick of the Vikings in the 2016 NFL Draft and the Clemson product had started to carve a niche on special teams and as a safety/linebacker with 16 tackles in eight games for Minnesota this season.
The Vikings are off this Sunday after picking up a win on Thursday night against the Washington Redskins.
