Adam Thielen will likely miss another game as he continues to fight a hamstring injury that he suffered Oct. 20 in Minnesota’s road victory over the Lions.
This Sunday, at U.S. Bank Stadium against the Lions, Thielen will likely remain sidelined as he is listed as doubtful on Minnesota’s final injury report. The the big injury question is for left tackle Riley Reiff, who is questionable with a concussion.
Running back Dalvin Cook (chest) is no longer listed on the injury report, so he should be a full go after being limited in practice earlier this week. Cook’s injury kept him out of the majority of the second half in Minnesota’s 37-30 loss to Seattle Monday night, but he said he can play through the pain and that he didn’t return to that game as a precaution.
Thielen was injured in Week 7 making a touchdown catch at Detroit. He suited up in Week 9 at Kansas City but left after aggravating the hamstring injury in the first quarter. He hasn’t played since, and now the Vikings will undoubtedly have to wait to see how he’s doing next week to determine if he’ll be available to play against the Chargers.
As the playoff push tightens, the need for Thielen increases. Chicago’s win over Dallas Thursday night puts the Bears at 7-6, not far behind the 8-4 Vikings. The Rams (7-5) are always on Minnesota’s tail in the race for the final NFC Wild Card.
