The Indianapolis Colts are going to defeat the Minnesota Vikings in the Super Bowl next season. That’s what ESPN.com’s Dan Graziano is going with in one of his 10 way too early bold predictions for the 2017 NFL season.
“Their opponent is the Indianapolis Colts, who win a 41-38 thriller after Andrew Luck throws a go-ahead touchdown with 1:45 left and Sam Bradford checks it down to a running back with time expiring at the Colts’ 15-yard line,” Graziano writes. “Two months later, Bradford signs with the Texans. Circle of life.”
Obviously, this is tongue and cheek writing. But kudos to Graziano for the cheap shot on the Bradford check down to lose the Super Bowl. How many times have Vikings fans voiced displeasure over a play like that?
For the record, Graziano is not Miss Cleo. He did some crystal ball stuff last year and only hit on one or two of his ten predictions, which included the Bengals beating the Cardinals in the Super Bowl.
The actual Super Bowl odds give the Vikings some sizzle. At 16-to-1, they have the fourth-best odds in the NFC. Green Bay and Dallas are 9-to-1 and Atlanta is 14-to-1. New England is favored in the AFC.
No team has played in a Super Bowl in their own stadium.
