The Minnesota Vikings will now be without cornerback Holton Hill for eight games in 2019 after the NFL handed out another four-game suspension.
“Holton Hill of the Minnesota Vikings has been suspended without pay for an additional four games during the 2019 regular season for violating the NFL’s policy and program on substances of abuse,” a statement from the NFL said.
Hill had previously been suspended for the first four games of the season back in April, for violating the league’s performance-enhancing substances policy.
He’ll still be able to take part in preseason practices and games but won’t be back on the active roster until Monday, Oct. 25, the day after the Vikings face Washington.
Hill is currently listed as 3rd on ESPN’s Vikings depth chart at left cornerback, behind starting corner Trae Waynes and backup Mike Hughes.
NFL.com notes he played in all 16 games for the Vikings last season with three starts, recording 36 tackles, an interception and seven passes defensed.
The Vikings brought in cornerback Duke Thomas from the Alliance of American Football league this past Friday.
