An interesting moment took place at the Vikings game Sunday when head coach Mike Zimmer was caught taking a dip of what appeared to be chewing tobacco from a bag of sunflower seeds.
The bag of DAVID’s sunflower seeds was a disguise that any college kid sneaking alcohol into a sporting event would be proud of, but the cameras found Zimmer at just the right time as he tucked the chaw away in his mouth.

Honestly, Zimmer’s disguise is about as impressive as the fake mustache former Mets manager Bobby Valentine used to sit in the dugout after being ejected from a game in 1999.
As far as we can tell, there is nothing on U.S. Bank Stadium’s A-Z Guide that outlaws chewing tobacco. The only thing tobacco related in the guide are the no smoking rules:
“U.S. Bank Stadium is a completely non-smoking facility. All guests are prohibited from smoking (including electronic cigarettes, vaporizers or similar products) inside of the stadium and outside of the stadium within the security perimeter at any time.”
But according to Global Sports Matters, players and coaches are prohibited from using tobacco during competition, with the February 2019 report noting that Zimmer was caught using chewing tobacco during a game in 2015.

Minnesota won Sunday’s game 25-19, and Zimmer’s defense seemed to snuff out pretty much everything the Seahawks tried.
No word on what brand of spit Zimmer used.
