The Vikings laid a dud on Sunday afternoon at U.S. Bank Stadium losing to the Indianapolis Colts 34-6.
The loss puts a significant dent in the team’s playoff hopes with two games to play as they entered Sunday a game back of the last Wildcard spot in the NFC.
Sam Bradford and the offense failed to score a touchdown and turned the ball over three times against one of the worst defenses in the league.
It was a sluggish start for the defense as they could not slow down the Colts’ offense. Andrew Luck gave his team a 27-0 first half lead; accumulating 281 yards of offense.
Minnesota’s best chance in the 1st half was squandered by an Adrian Peterson fumble at the Colts’ 10 yard line.
Things didn’t get better in the second half either as the Vikings opened with the football and once again turned the ball over inside enemy territory.
Kicker Kai Forbath was the only reason the Vikings got on the board with his two field goals.
The Vikings injury report keeps piling up too as they lost Adam Thielen, Zach Line and Tom Johnson to injuries.
With the loss the Vikings are 7-7 on the season and will be back in action in Green Bay against the Packers on Christmas Eve .
