The Minnesota Vikings put together their first 4-0 preseason since 2001 with their 19-3 win over Tennessee on Thursday night.
Teddy Bridgewater made the start for the Vikings. He led the team down the field for an opening drive touchdown. Bridgewater capped it off with his fifth touchdown pass of the preseason, this one to Adam Thielen.
That touchdown and four Blair Walsh field goals were enough to lead the Vikings to the victory.
Bridgewater finished just 4 of 9 for 17 yards and the touchdown in the game. Christian Ponder handled the rest of the game under center. He completed 12 of 15 for 121 yards.
In coach Mike Zimmer’s post game speech to the team he credited the Vikings for their hard work and singled out Ponder’s solid play.

Running back Joe Banyard’s performance also stood out. Banyard – thought to be a long-shot to make the team’s final roster – ran for 111 yards on 18 carries.
The Vikings’ defense played well. They recorded three sacks and kept the Titans off the scoreboard until the fourth quarter, allowing Minnesota to build a 19-0 lead in the process.
It’s the seventh time the Vikings have finished the preseason unbeaten – the first since 2001.
