The Minnesota Vikings say they are aware of a situation involving wide receiver Cayleb Jones, who was arrested on Tuesday in Eagan and faces possible charges of felony theft, misdemeanor domestic assault and interfering with a 911 call.
Details about the alleged crimes won’t be available unless Jones is formally charged, but Vikings General Manager Rick Spielman released a statement on the matter.
“We are aware of the situation involving Cayleb Jones and are in the process of gathering more information,” Spielman’s statement says. ” Further comment will be provided at the appropriate time.”
According to the arrest report, a judge recommended that Jones be held without bail.
Previously, Jones was issued a four-game suspension by the NFL for violating the league performance-enhancing drugs policy, so even if he were to make the 53-man Vikings roster he wouldn’t be ineligible to play until Week 5.
Earlier this year, Jones was allegedly involved in a frightening ordeal when he reportedly had to restrain his brother, Buffalo Bills wide receiver Zay Jones, from jumping out of a Los Angeles apartment building window.
