Sports Illustrated’s staff of 15 NFL writers have made their playoff predictions and only two of them think the Vikings will win the Super Bowl.
Two out of 15 isn’t bad, thanks Albert Breer and Kalyn Kahler, and it’s nice to see that 100 percent of the predictions view the Vikings as a playoff team. That said, six of them have the Vikes losing in the Wild Card round, which is one more than have them advancing to the NFC title game or beyond.

Meanwhile, ESPN’s season preview is out and it has the Vikings ranked sixth-best going into the season, giving them a win projection of 9.5 games, which they say is due to a very difficult schedule.
Bold predictions from CBS Sports have the Packers winning the NFC North by one game over the Vikings, and Aaron Rodgers helping Jimmy Graham set the NFL record for touchdown catches by a tight end.
Bleacher Report has the Vikings at No. 1 in its first power rankings of the regular season, saying they “have all the ingredients for a juggernaut.”
The Vikings open the season Sunday at noon at home against the San Francisco 49ers, and the early odds from Las Vegas list the Vikings as massive, six-point favorites.
