When it rains, it pours for the Vikings this season, with team’s abject 0-2 start followed by some catastrophic news on the injury front.
During his Monday press conference, head coach Mike Zimmer confirmed that linebacker Anthony Barr has torn a pectoral muscle and will be out for the season.
It’ll mean that the Vikings defense will not only be without Barr against the Titans next weekend, but also Danielle Hunter, who isn’t eligible to come off the IR until Week 4.
The Vikings D has struggled tremendously during the first two games, shipping 43 points against the Packers and 28 points against the Colts.
They face a Titans team Sunday that has started the season 2-0, with wins over the Denver Broncos and the Jacksonville Jaguars.
Barr in 2019 signed a 5-year, $67.5 million contract with the Vikings.
