According to Pro Football Reference, Harnish is a 6-foot-2, 219-pound quarterback. He spent the 2012 and 2013 seasons with the Indianapolis Colts. He has never thrown a pass in an NFL regular season game.
He was selected by the Colts with the final pick, also known was “Mr. Irrelevant,” in the 2012 NFL Draft.
Harnish played under now-Gophers head coach Jerry Kill at Northern Illinois from 2008-2011.
According to 1500 ESPN, the Vikings now have two active quarterbacks on the roster – Teddy Bridgewater and Christian Ponder – and two on the practice squad – Harnish and McLeod Bethel-Thompson.
Bridgewater is scheduled to undergo an MRI on his left ankle today. X-rays taken Sunday revealed no structural damage, but Bridgewater’s status for Thursday Night Football against the Green Bay Packers is unknown.
