Christian Ponder spent a few minute on KFAN-FM 100.3 this morning, chatting with Paul Allen, the radio voice of the Vikings.
Among the new nuggets of information from the second-year quarterback, was the notion that he fully expects Adrian Peterson to play in Sunday’s opening game against Jacksonville. As Ponder put it, “I believe he’s 100 percent into this game. He looked good in practice.”
Ponder also told Allen that he feels comfortable with the revamped offensive line, with rookie Matt Kalil protecting his blindside. Ponder said the unit, as a whole, will “only help me get better.”
Other quotes of note:
On playing without Jerome Simpson the first three weeks: “We can’t worry about it. We just (have to) make plays without him, and we’ll do that.”
On the Vikings’ offensive game plan on Week 1: “Our deal is that we want to do the ordinary things better than everybody else, and that’s our plan.”
