Last night in a massive Game 3 tilt that would either put St. Louis a game away from the World Series or see the Dodgers tie the best-of-seven at two, Punto ripped a double over the head of center fielder Jon Jay, checking in to second with a one-out double with LA down two in the seventh.
Hitting a ball over the center fielder’s head? Not very Nick Punto-ish.
Before St. Louis pitcher Carlos Martinez threw another pitch, Punto reminded the baseball world that he is indeed, still Nick Punto.
