The Vikings have just a day left to trim their roster to 53 players to start the regular season.
Last night, guys on the bubble made their case in Minnesota’s preseason win over Tennessee.
Punt returner Marcus Sherels — a Rochester native who lost his father to cancer this month — made the most noise.
He not only had an interception, but ran back a kick 109-yards for a touchdown.
Sherels, who is in a battle with Bobby Felder for his spot on the Vikings roster says: “You always try to make plays … I had my chance and I took advantage of it.”
Coach Leslie Frazier says everyone “is pulling” for Sherels. In his words: “He finds ways to make plays in the preseason and training camp and he ends up making our ball club.”
