The Minnesota Gophers women’s soccer team found out that it had been selected to the NCAA Tournament Monday afternoon.
The Gophers will be at home at the Elizabeth Lyle Robbie Stadium for their first-round tournament matchup against South Dakota State Friday evening at 6 p.m.
Minnesota’s players celebrated their selection into the tournament.

It’s the ninth tournament appearance for the Gophers, who finished the regular season 11-6-3. The Gophers join Northwestern, Ohio State, Penn State and Rutgers in the tournament from the Big Ten conference.
First-round matches will be played Nov. 13-15, second-round matches are set for Nov. 20 and the third round will play Nov. 22, all on campus sites.
The 2015 NCAA College Cup will be held at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, North Carolina. The semifinal games are Dec. 4 and the championship match is on Dec. 6.
