Jason Vargas threw seven shutout innings to lead the Kansas City Royals to a 4-0 victory over the Minnesota Twins, Wednesday at Target Field.
The Royals took two of three from the Twins, in the series.
Kansas City got to Twins starter Kevin Correia (4-10) in the second inning. Mike Moustakas and Jarrod Dyson had run-scoring singles to give Kansas City the 2-0 lead.
Correia settled down from that point on, he did not give up another run through his six innings of work.
Chris Parmelee was one of the few bright spots, he had two of the four Twins hits.

Trevor Plouffe and Sam Fuld had the only other hits, but the Twins were 0-for-3 with runners in scoring position.
Raul Ibanez clubbed his fourth home run of the season, in the eighth inning.
The Twins will now begin a four-game weekend series with the New York Yankees tomorrow. That will be their final home series before the All-Star break.
