Apple Valley High School megastar Tyus Jones named his final college visits today via Twitter, leaving off the list Michigan State and Ohio State, while including the University of Minnesota.
Sort of.
Jones is in Dinkytown today unofficially looking at head coach Richard Pitino and the Minnesota basketball program, while he named four other schools he will take official visits to.
These are the final visits I'm taking.
Unofficial to MN today
Officials to:
Baylor Aug 30-Sept 1
UK Sept 27-29
KU Oct 18-20
Duke Oct 25-27— Tyus Jones (@1Tyus) August 13, 2013
While it may appear a tough blow for the hometown school, the visit being unofficial and all, experts are not concerned since he’s been in Minnesota all his life and has seen the University multiple times.
No Tyus Jones sighting. Not surprising that he's not taking an official to the #Gophers. Rashad Vaughn won't either because he's been here.

Others also not shocked.
Not surprised at all with the visits Tyus Jones is taking. In fact, falls in line with what we've been talking about at GI.

So no one needs to panic that Minnesota is not on the list of “official” visits.
Besides, the odds are massively against the #2 recruit in the nation staying home if he follows through on his promise to go to school with #1 recruit Jahlil Okafor.
