The Tigers middle-of-the-order carried Detroit to another win over the Twins on Saturday afternoon. Minnesota gave up a first inning home run and trailed the rest of the way. Minnesota enters the month of May ten games under .500 with a 7-17 record.

With 2 outs in the top of the first inning, Eduardo Nunez made a costly error trying to throw out J.D. Martinez to extend the inning; Victor Martinez doubled and Justin Upton launched a home run to the second deck at Target Field.

2. Park goes yard
The lone Twins run came in the bottom of the fifth when Byung Ho Park launched his team leading 6th home run. Park is hitting just .227 on the year but is slugging .526 and his power looks to be for real.

3. Big boppers come through for Detroit
Detroit’s middle-of-the-order made it count today. Victory Martinez, Justin Upton and Nick Castellanos went a combined 5-12, with 2 runs scored and 4-RBI.
