The White Sox sent the reeling Twins to another loss, 4-3 Tuesday night in Chicago.
Mike Pelfrey threw 96 pitches and was removed after 4 1/3 innings. He allowed three runs on nine hits while striking out six.
Trailing 1-nothing in the third, Trevor Plouffe tied the game for the Twins with an RBI double to deep right. But Chicago plated three runs the fifth to take command of the game, 4-1.
The Twins rallied for a pair of runs in the seventh, thanks to an RBI single from Plouffe and another on a White Sox error later in the inning.
Chicago’s Addison Reed pitched a 1-2-3 ninth to save the game.
