The Twins improved to 9-6 in Grapefruit League play Saturday as Darin Mastroianni led the team with two hits, a stolen base and an RBI in their 5-4 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Star Tribune reports.
The game marked Mastroianni’s return to the Twins after being out nine days with a sore left hamstring.
Right-hander Cole De Vries made his second start and fourth appearance of spring training for Twins and gave up one unearned run and one hit in three innings.
Saturday’s game was in Bradenton, Fla. The Twins return home Sunday to Hammond Stadium in Fort Meyers to take on the Pirates again.
Right-hander Liam Hendriks is scheduled to go to the mound for the Twins.
