Minnesota has won 11 of 18 games in June and six of their last nine after beating the Boston Red Sox 4-1 at Target Field Wednesday night.
Brian Dozier led the way at the plate by going 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles, including one in the eighth inning to push Minnesota’s lead to 4-1. But Minnesota got all it needed in the first four innings thanks to a lead-off homer by Robbie Grossman and a two-run shot from Max Kepler in the fourth.
The most impressive part of the Twins’ last five games is that they’ve beaten four really great pitchers, including Corey Kluber, Carlos Carrasco, Chris Sale and David Price.
The Twins went 8-15 in May and 13-15 in April, so they’re trending in the right direction as the season goes along.
Minnesota can sweep the Red Sox with a win Thursday. First pitch is set for 12:10 p.m.
