Joey Gallo had four hitrs including two homers to lead the Twins to an 8-1 win over the Phillies Saturday night in Philadelphia.
The victory snapped Minnesota’s four game losing streak and ended a stretch of woeful offensive performances.
Matt Wallner homered in the fourth inning to get the homer party started. Gallo followed with his first of the night two batters later.
Gallo and Correa then homered in the Twins’ five-run seventh inning. Gallo’s second shot was a three-run bomb. He now leads the Twins with 20 homers despite batting just .185 this season.
Pablo Lopez earned the win for the Twins. He pitched six shutout innings and struck out seven.
