TheMinnesota Twinsdropped a second straight game to San Francisco Saturday night, losing 2-1 at AT&T Park despite a solid outing from starting pitcher Samuel Deduno, theStar Tribunereports.
Deduno (1-3, 3.48 ERA) gave up two runs on four hits and three walks in 5 2/3 innings. It was his fourth start sincetaking over in the starting rotation for Mike Pelfrey, who is recovering from a groin injury he suffered earlier this month.
The Giants scored first when third baseman Pablo Sandoval hit a solo homer in the bottom of the second inning. Sandoval struck again in the sixth, bringing in the Giants’ second and ultimately game-winning run with a sacrifice fly which scored Angel Pagan.
The Twins couldn’t muster much offense against Giants starting pitcher Ryan Vogelsong, who allowed only three hits and one walk while striking out seven in 6 2/3 innings. The Twins only score was a solo home run by Josmil Pinto to lead off the ninth inning off Giants closer Sergio Romo.
TheTwins lost to the Giants6-2 on Friday night. They’ll try to avoid a series sweep when they play again on Sunday at 3:05 p.m.
