In the worst loss of the season, the Twins were embarrassed by the Royals, 13-0 Monday night in Kansas City.
The 13-run defeat is the worst, topping the 16-5 loss to the Mets earlier this season.
It was so bad that infielder Jamey Carroll pitched the eighth inning for the Twins. He’s an infielder… not a pitcher.
Funny thing is… Carroll pitched a shutout inning and he needed just nine pitches (seven strikes) to do it.
Royals right-hander Jeremy Guthrie pitched a complete game shutout. He allowed four hits and struck out seven.
Kevin Correia was awful for the Twins. He allowed six runs on seven hits and three walks before being pulled from the game after two innings.
Ryan Pressly’s night was worse than Correia’s. He allowed seven runs in 1 1/3 innings out of the bullpen.
KC has won 11 of 14 games against the Twins this season.
Yuck.
