Byron Buxton was the Twins’ first-round pick, number two overall, in the 2012 MLB Draft.
The kid can play.
On Thursday night, Buxton smacked a walk-off grand slam to lead Cedar Rapids to a 7-6 win over Burlington.
Cedar Rapids is Minnesota’s Class A minor league affiliate.
In 38 games at Cedar Rapids, Buxton is hitting .343 with 6 home runs, 32 RBI and 16 stolen bases.
MLB Network’s Peter Gammons is hearing nothing but good things about Buxton.
