With Thursday’s Home Opener at Target Field expected to be the coldest in Minnesota Twins history, the team’s president is putting a stop to any talk about the game being postponed.

That’s funny, but really, if they didn’t play Thursday they probably wouldn’t be able to play Saturday or Sunday when the weather is just as awful, so play on they will.
It’ll feel like its in the teens
Bring Me The News talked to Twins meteorologist Mace Michaels earlier Monday and he said Thursday’s 3 p.m. game will likely go down as the coldest in Twins history, breaking the record of 34 degrees set during a game at Met Stadium way back in 1962.
Bold North will be a necessary trait for anyone attending the game because wind chills in the teens will make it feel like you’re being slapped in the face with a frozen flyswatter.
The Twins are lucky that Friday is an off day because it’s supposed to be colder than it will be on Thursday. Friday’s forecast high isn’t supposed to crack 25 degrees.
The coldest game-time temp in MLB history is 23 degrees, set in 2013 in a game between the Rockies and Braves in Colorado.
Saturday’s Twins-Mariners game should see a high of around 30 degrees, so it won’t be balmy by any stretch of the imagination.
Sunday’s game is still pretty far away, but the current forecast calls for rain, snow, wind and a high in the mid-30s.
