Twins pitching prospect Trevor May will play in the Futures Game at Target Field after all.
Wednesday, May was named as a pitcher on the U.S. Team as a replacement for St. Louis’ Marco Gonzales. He joins Twins prospects J.O. Berrios and Kenny Vargas, who will play for the World Team.

The game will be played on Sun. July 13 at Target Field, as part of Major League Baseball’s All-Star Weekend festivities.
The Twins acquired him from Philadelphia in the Ben Revere trade. He has had a solid start to the season with the Rochester Red Wings.
“Trevor May has had a really good first half of the season,” Twins manager Ron Gardenhire told the Pioneer Press, Tuesday.
May is 8-4 with a 2.94 earned-run average in 14 starts. Seven of those wins have come since May 1. In 79 2/3 innings, May has 81 strikeouts compared to just 31 walks and opponents are hitting just .203 against him.
May is the No. 11 ranked Twins prospect. He was 9-9 with a 4.51 ERA last year at Double-A New Britain.
The right-hander was a fourth-round draft pick by the Phillies in the 2008 First-Year Player Draft. Since that point May has posted a 54-44 record and a 3.94 ERA in seven seasons in the Minors.
Honored to be included in the Futures Game this year! Proud to represent the Twins and USA!
