The Twins returned to their winning ways picking up a 9-4 win over the Rays on Tuesday. After a scoreless first inning, Minnesota scratched across runs in the second, third, fourth, fifth and eighth innings.
Willians Astudillo kicked off the scoring but the game was busted open in the third when Jonathan Schoop blasted a home run and Eddie Rosario and C.J Cron each plated a run.
For Schoop, it was his first game since June 21, and his 13th home run of the season.

Rosario had a big night at the plate, going 4-5 with one run scored and two runs driven in. Astudillo and Mitch Garver also collected multiple hits in the win.
In the bottom of the eighth, Garver belted his 12th home run of season, solidifying the victory.

Starting pitcher Kyle Gibson was cruising along with just one run allowed on four hits through six innings, but he ran into some trouble in the seventh, allowing three more runs to come across but the right-hander pitched out of the jam.
All in all, Gibson went seven innings, allowing seven hits, four runs, seven strikeouts and issued one walk.
There was a scary play in the bottom of the fifth when Max Kepler was hit in the elbow by a pitch and had to leave the game. Kepler was diagnosed with a right-elbow contusion and it’s unclear how long he’ll be out.
Jake Cave replaced Kepler, but the Twins can’t afford to lose another outfielder with Byron Buxton still on the 10-day injured list.
With the win, the Twins improve to 51-27 and return to action on Wednesday evening with Jake Odorizzi starting on the mound for Minnesota.
