It’s been a busy day for past and present Minnesota Twins.
First, A.J. Pierzynski signed with the Red Sox. He picked Boston one day after a report suggested the Twins were “making progress” with Pierzynski in contract negotiations.

Second, rumors of the Twins being a finalist for the services of catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia quickly vanished. As of now, it looks like Josmil Pinto will be the opening day catcher next season.

Third, the Twins introduced Ricky Nolasco, the starting pitcher they signed to a four-year, $49 million deal.
Nolasco’s 77 wins over the last six seasons is the fourth-most in the National League.
Fourth, ex-Twins Joe Nathan signed with the Detroit Tigers. Bob Nightengale of USA Today reported the deal to be worth approximately $20 million over two-years.
Nathan, 39, saved 43 games for the Rangers last season. He spent seven years with the Twins (2004-2011) and is the team’s all-time saves leader with 260.
