“Everyone says he feels great.”
That, from Twins manager Ron Gardenhire Sunday after left-hander Rafael Perez threw for the first time since signing a minor-league contract with Minnesota.
Gardenhire tells MLB.com that there is “plenty of time” to put Perez through the paces this spring to see if he can bounce back from shoulder surgery last September.
Perez, a former Cleveland Indian, was once one of the better left-handed setup men in the American League. He has a career 3.64 ERA with 268 strikeouts in 329 innings.
