The Twins lost their 93rd game of the season last night, 6-5 to the Indians at Target Field.
Minnesota made it exciting as they nearly rallied to beat the Indians.
The rally started in the ninth. Trailing 6-1, rookie outfielder Alex Presley ripped a run-scoring triple to right center, Brian Dozier followed with an RBI groundout, and fellow rookie Josmil Pinto launched a two-run homer to make it a one-run game, 6-5.
Oswaldo Arcia struck out with runners at first and second to end the game.
A loss for Cleveland could have been catastrophic. The Indians are currently one game ahead of the Rangers for the second Wild Card spot in the American League. Texas won, so a loss would have tied things up.
The Twins and Indians do battle Friday-Sunday to close the regular season.
