The Minnesota Twins have struggled to find wins and now they’re battling the injury bug.
On Tuesday, starting pitchers Kyle Gibson (strained shoulder) and Ervin Santana (back spasms) were placed on the 15-day disabled list. Right-hander Jose Berrios and infielder Jorge Polanco are the expected call ups to take their roster spots, according to Twins writer Rhett Bollinger.
Twins expected to call up Jose Berrios and Jorge Polanco to replace Kyle Gibson and Ervin Santana. Both en route so not official yet.

Berrios is expected to start in place of Gibson on Wednesday – and that’s music to fans’ ears because Berrios has been wildly regarded as the best pitching prospect the Twins have had in years.
Gibson and Santana join Trevor Plouffe and Glen Perkins on the growing disabled list for the Twins.
