The 30-man Opening Day roster has been finalized by the Minnesota Twins, and it includes Byron Buxton but not Jake Odorizzi.
Buxton, who suffered a foot sprain last week during a summer camp practice, is one of six outfielders on the roster. Odorizzi, meanwhile, is on the injured list with a back issue but isn’t expected to miss time beyond July 30.
“Regardless of true definition, he’s dealing with a little something, but he’s still able to take part in most of his day and most of his preparation,” Twins manager Rocco Baldelli said Wednesday, via the Twins. “I wouldn’t expect this to linger too long.”
It’s unclear if Buxton will be in the lineup when the Twins open the 60-game regular season Friday against the White Sox in Chicago, but the fact that he’s on the roster is a good indication that he’s at least close to getting back in the lineup.
Here’s the 30-man roster, broken down by position.
