It had been over a year since the Minnesota Twins played in front of fans at Target Field but in their home opener, the Twins reminded their faithful of their powerful lineup.
The Twins collected nine extra-base hits, including three home runs, in a 10-2 victory over the Seattle Mariners on Thursday afternoon.
After Ty France gave the Mariners an early lead, the Twins went to work with a four-run third inning. Kyle Garlick put the Twins on the board with an RBI double before Mitch Garver sent a Marco Gonzalez pitch to center field to put Minnesota up 4-1.
Byron Buxton followed suit in the top of the fifth, hitting a no-doubter to left field to put the Twins up 5-1.

Miguel Sanò and Luis Arraez each drove in runs to extend the lead to 7-1 before the Mariners got a run back with a Jose Marmolejos home run in the top of the sixth.
The Twins had too much offense for the Mariners to keep up with Max Kepler driving in a run in the bottom of the sixth and Arraez smashing a two-run homer in the seventh.

José Berríos picked up the victory allowing one run over 5.2 innings and the Twins improved to 5-2 on the season.
After an off-day on Friday, the Twins will resume their series with the Mariners on Saturday afternoon.
