A lucky bounce followed by two great at-bats and a big fly by Eduardo Escobar helped give the Twins a 4-2 win over the White Sox in the first game of a doubleheader at Target Field today.
Trailing 2-0 in the eighth inning, the Twins had nobody on base and two out. Brian Dozier’s grounder to third should’ve been the third out, but an odd hop allowed him to reach safely. Eddie Rosario then coaxed a walk and Miguel Sano followed with an RBI single to left.
That set the stage for Escobar’s home run, a three-run bomb over the wall in dead center.
