Former Minnesota Twins pitcher Johan Santana threw a bullpen on Tuesday at a high school in Fort Myers.
1500 ESPN reports the Twins had multiple scouts in attendance. There were seven teams watching the lefty throw on Tuesday, one of the other teams was the New York Yankees.
Santana is attempting to come back from surgery last April to repair a torn capsule in the front of the left shoulder. It was the second time in 31 months the two-time Cy Young Award winner underwent the procedure.
Last week, the Twins confirmed they had been in contact with Santana and his agent.
It’s hard to know how things went for Santana, but he seemed happy, according to his verified Twitter posts.

Santana’s velocity topped out at 81 mph, according to the New York Post, who sites Yankees scout Tim Naehring.
The Pioneer Press reports Santana is still targeting a June 1 return date, according to his agent Peter Greenberg. Greenberg said that is “not a firm date.”
“He’s going to take it conservatively this time,” Greenberg told the Pioneer Press. “There’s no real time frame or schedule. He’s not rushing things. It’s hard to put a date on it, but he is throwing and progressing well and feeling very good.”
The Pioneer Press says an evaluator who has seen Santana throw recently said the lefty remains “a ways off” from completing his comeback.
