The final two games of a weekend series between the Minnesota Twins and Los Angeles Angels have been postponed after outfielder Kyle Garlick and one other player tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday.
Manager Rocco Baldelli confirmed prior to Saturday’s game that he had to make a lineup change due to Garlick’s positive test and later confirmed that another player and a staff member had tested positive.
According to the Pioneer Press’ Betsy Hefland, the Twins were vaccinated on April 8 with the single-dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine but that takes two weeks to reach its maximum efficacy. Hefland also reported that Garlick was one of the Twins that received the vaccine.
Andrelton Simmons tested positive on Tuesday and Twins manager Rocco Baldelli had a false positive test before Thursday’s game with the Boston Red Sox.
Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports that Saturday’s issues are not connected with Simmons’ positive test as he has remained away from the team since Tuesday.

With the postponements, the Twins are scheduled to start a three-game series with the Oakland Athletics on Monday.
