The Twins snapped a team record 10-game home losing streak with a win over the Angels, 6-3 Monday night at Target Field.
Josmil Pinto doubled three times in a 3-for-4 night at the plate. The rookie catcher is batting .565 with 16 hits in his first seven career games.
Pedro Hernandez started for the Twins, but he didn’t factor in the decision. He allowed three runs on eight hits in 4 2/3 innings
Trailing 3-1 in the fifth, Trevor Plouffe hit a two-run single to tie the game, 3-all.
Plouffe then came back in the seventh and lifted a sacrifice fly to right field, allowing Brian Dozier to score and give the Twins the lead.
Minnesota added runs in the seventh and eighth innings to seal the deal.
The bullpen picked up the game with two outs in the fifth. Jared Burton, Brian Duensing, Casey Fien and Glen Perkins finished the game without allowing a run.
