Oh, Joe. What more is there to say about the St. Paul native who made it big in Major League Baseball with his hometown Twins?
“Every day I wanted to go out there and give it my best. Be there for teammates,” Joe Mauer said in his retirement press conference on Monday.
Well, Mauer’s teammates, including the production crew with the Twins, had his back in putting together this touching tribute video overlaid with excerpts from his farewell speech.
"Every day I wanted to go out there and give it my best. Be there for teammates. You know, make St. Paul, the Twin Cities, Minnesota proud."

“You know, make St. Paul, the Twin Cities, Minnesota proud,” Mauer said. “That was always on my mind. I always knew I had one shot at doing this, too, so I wanted to make the most of it.
“I can say up here today that I gave it everything I got, that I had.”
Is someone cutting onions in here?
