One of the best point guards in the country will announce his college plans this Sunday.
Tre Jones, a soon-to-be senior point guard from Apple Valley High School in Minnesota, tweeted Thursday that he’ll make his verbal commitment this weekend.

The heavy favorite appears to be the same school his brother and current Timberwolves point guard Tyus Jones went: Duke. 247 Sports’ crystal ball predicts there’s a 95% chance Jones picks Duke compared to a 5% chance Jones stays home and plays for Richard Pitino and the Gophers.
Adding to the Duke speculation is the fact that Pitino has been recruiting more point guards of late, according to Gophers 247 analyst Kyle Goblirsch.

The final five on Tre’s list include Duke, Minnesota, UCLA, USC and Ohio State.
“[Tyus] is behind me, any decision I make, what I feel is best for me,” Tre told NBC Sports recently. “He went [to Duke], but at the same time he’s been through all this. He knows whatever the best fit for me is the best fit for me. He’s going to support me 100 percent.”
The biggest hope for Gophers fans hoping he picks Minnesota is that his AAU teammates and good friends Jarvis Thomas, Daniel Oturu and Gabe Kalscheur have all recently committed to the Gophers.
