If you’ve been reading anything about the Timberwolves of late, there’s a good chance you’ve seen someone refer to Karl-Anthony Towns, Andrew Wiggins and Zach LaVine as “The Big Three.”
Those are three really big words in the NBA. CheatSheet.com ranked the five best Big Threes from the 2016 season and it looks like this:
- Warriors: Steph Curry, Klay Thompson, Draymond Green
- Thunder: Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, Serge Ibaka
- Cavaliers: LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, Kevin Love
- Spurs: Kawhi Leonard, LaMarcus Aldridge, Tim Duncan
- Clippers: Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, DeAndre Jordan
Nobody has put the Timberwolves’ “Big Three” in that stratosphere, but what about Ricky Rubio and new first-round draft pick Kris Dunn? If you were able to vote for three players in the Wolves’ Big Three, who would you pick?
Keep in mind that Rubio’s name is has been muddied by trade talks, including the most recent from Charley Walters of the Pioneer Press, who says Rubio ticked off the front office by saying he’s not sure he can take another playoff-less season in Minnesota.
