Finnish goaltender Antti Raanta has signed with the Chicago Blackhawks, the Blackhawks announced Monday.
Raanta is considered the top goalie in Finland, and he picked the Blackhawks over the Minnesota Wild and a number of other teams.
Raanta posted a 1.33 goals against average and .955 save percentage this past season, leading his team to a league title. He was also named the regular season MVP.
Wild general manager Chuck Fletcher tells the Star Tribune that his No. 1 off-season priority if finding a No. 1 goalie for next season.
Current No. 1 goalie Niklas Backstrom becomes an unrestricted free agent in July.
