It took a decade of hand-wringing and political wrangling, but on this day in 2006, the Minnesota Legislature gave its final approval on a bill that would allow the Twins to build an outdoor stadium in downtown Minneapolis. The House vote was 71-61, the Senate vote was 34-32.
