The Minnesota Timberwolves dropped their fourth straight game on Sunday night falling to the Denver Nuggets by a score of 124-109.
Sunday’s game was one where the Timberwolves competed throughout the first half, heading into the locker room down 55-48 at halftime. However, the game turned thanks to a strong third-quarter effort from Minnesota.
The Wolves won the third quarter for the first time this season outscoring Denver 36-28 in the frame. D’Angelo Russell was the catalyst in the middle of the action contributing 18 points and seven assists on the evening. One of those was to Malik Beasley, who led Minnesota with 25 points on the night.

Although the Timberwolves entered the fourth quarter with a one-point lead, the Nuggets’ stars helped Denver pull away with a 30-9 run to start the fourth quarter. Nikola Jokic registered a triple-double with 19 points, 12 rebounds, and 12 assists and Jamaal Murray dropped a season-high 36 points as the Nuggets cruised to victory.
The Timberwolves fall to 2-4 on the season with the loss and 0-4 since Karl-Anthony Towns dislocated his left wrist. Minnesota will try to get revenge on the Nuggets when they travel for a rematch on Tuesday night.
