Terrell Owens as a Viking?
It hasn’t happened, but if Owens had it his way he would be catching passes from Christian Ponder.
“I think anything west coast (offense) would be more suitable for myself considering that’s where I started,” Owens told NFL A.M. “Obviously, you look at a team like the Vikings … I’m very familiar with Coach Reeves who’s over there with the Kansas City Chiefs. Again, like I said, right at this stage in my career, it just depends on the right situation on the right team.”
In the interview, NFL A.M. pointed out that Owens has a “great” relationship with Vikings wide receivers coach, George Stewart from their days together in San Francisco.
Owens, 39, has a well-documented history of trouble with teammates and coaches, but he says he’s matured.
“‘I’m a changed person. I’m a bit more mature than I was in years past, and I think if anybody out there can look past that and look what I can bring to the team than some of the things that happened in the past, I can look past it and maybe they could, and I could go in and help a team develop some of those younger guys.”
If Owens doesn’t catch on with another team, he says he could pursue a career in bowling.
