The Twins scored 10-runs in the second inning and wound up pounding the Indians, 14-3 in Cleveland Monday night. Justin Morneau, Josh Willingham and Ryan Doumit all homered in the inning.
Morneau homered twice in the game, giving him 15 for the season and 200 in his career. Willingham’s solo home run started the inning — it was his team-leading 29th long ball of the season. Doumit connected on his 12th homer of the year.
Ben Revere went 4-5 and increased his team-leading batting average to .331. Joe Mauer had three hits, including a pair of doubles and three RBI. Mauer is second on the team in hitting with a .321 average.
Tsuyoshi Nishioka played in his first game of the season. He went 0-5 and committed two errors.
Scott Diamond earned the win. He threw seven innings and allowed just two earned runs.
