The Tampa Bay Rays got the best of the Twins Sunday, winning the series closer 11-3 at Target Field.
Minnesota had beaten the Rays in the first two games of the series both Friday and Saturday.
Rays’ pitcher Chris Archer started the game on a streak of 20 2/3 scoreless innings, which Joe Mauer broke in the first inning with an RBI, giving the Twins an early 1-0 lead, MLB.com reports.
Twins pitcher Kyle Gibson came into the game with a 0.96 ERA in his last four outings, but he gave up three runs on eight hits and two walks over five innings.
The bullpen didn’t offer much relief. Brain Duensing and Michael Tonkin allowed five runs in the sixth inning. Ryan Pressly, Aaron Thompson and J.R. Graham finished off the game.
Doug Bernier had the other two RBIs for the Twins.

The Twins are off Monday, then travel to Pittsburgh Tuesday for a two-game series. Ricky Nolasco takes the mound for the Twins, while former Twin Francisco Liriano is pitching for the Pirates. Game starts at 6:05 p.m.
